Breast Cancer Walk at Clove Lake Park

There was pink everywhere you looked at Clove Lake Park located in Staten Island, for the seventeenth annual 3-mile walk for Breast Cancer. The weather was perfect and the people were amazing. Every group had a story. Over 6000 people joined in the walk to help raise money for the American Cancer Society’s breast cancer  research, education, advocacy and patient service programs.

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer is more than just the name of a walk; it describes the progress being made to save lives and end breast cancer. About 1 in 8 women in the United States (12%) will develop invasive breast cancer over the course of her lifetime.
